Kasama Municipal Council is pleased to announce that Kasama District has received two new ambulances, allocated to Kasama Central and Lukashya Constituencies, following the official handover of 119 ambulances to constituencies across the country by His Excellency, President Hakainde Hichilema. The ceremony was held at the Lusaka Showgrounds on Wednesday, 17th September 2025 and officiated on behalf of the President by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hon. Gift Sialubalo, MP.
The ambulances, procured through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), are fitted with modern medical equipment designed to support healthcare professionals in providing emergency services and life-saving care during patient transfers. President Hichilema described the handover as an important milestone in strengthening healthcare delivery and reaffirmed Government’s commitment to ensuring quality health services for all Zambians.
The Head of State also directed the Ministry of Health to provide training for ambulance service personnel in basic life support, emergency care, and first aid response. He further emphasized the importance of proper management and maintenance of the vehicles to guarantee their long-term service to local communities.
Kasama Municipal Council welcomes this development and notes that the ambulances will significantly enhance emergency response capacity in the district. The Council remains committed to working closely with stakeholders to ensure that these resources are effectively utilized for the benefit of the people of Kasama.
